Ideas for Ridding Yourself of Sale Leftovers
Unfortunately, the Fall sale will NOT have a donation truck coming through afterwards. However, Diversity Thrift Store (804-353-8890) does donation pick-ups at individual homes 7 days a week. They will even come into your home (if you ask) and move stuff out for you. Other options for individual pickups include: AmVets (1-800-526-8387), Purple Heart (1-855-820-0366), and CHKD (1-855-299-5437).
**You can take your books, records, DVD’s, consoles, puzzles and games (board or console) to McKay Brothers in the Big Lots shopping center off Brook Road and trade them in for cash or store credit.
**You can call Habitat for Humanity Restore (Hanover: 804-569-6226 or Richmond: 804-228-1305) to schedule a FREE pickup for tools, paint, appliances, cars, furniture, building supplies, etc.
**You can take your stuff to the Springfield Dump (10600 Fords Country Lane, Glen Allen, VA; open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.). For just $3 per trip, you can dispose of residential trash, including up to 4 tires. There is also a place to dispose of yard waste and a recycling center (where you can drop off furniture in so-so condition or those old-model TV’s no one wants).
**Computer World (4619 W. Broad St., 23230, 804-359-6943) will take your electronic equipment (cables, smart phones, e-books, GPS, Mp3 players, TV’s, computers, etc.) for reuse, refurbishment and recycling.

You never used the immersion blender or the weedeater, even though you swore you were going to.
You thought your kid would LOVE that video game, and you were wrong.
And don’t even get you started on that stack of books you no longer want.
Welcome to your garage sale pile.
